President's Message
Dear friend,
Welcome to Miami-Dade County Council of PTAs/PTSAs, an all community partners, united for
one common goal…making every child’s potential a reality.
Miami-Dade County Council is the largest council of PTAs/PTSAs in the state of Florida with
nearly 59,000 members. We boast of our 5% increase in membership last year, one of only a
handful in all of the country. That is success to build on. We have much to do.
Now…More Than Ever, as we face continuing educational cutbacks in public school funding
from Tallahassee, we must unite our voices to say “enough”!
Now…More Than Ever, we need to create new partnerships and engage parents from all
cultural and economic backgrounds in their children’s lives and education.
Now…More Than Ever, we need to increase our PTA memberships to anyone who has an
interest in children’s issues, whether they are a parent, or not.
Now…More Than Ever, we need to come together to make the lives of our children better.
I ask each of you to take the lead in encouraging other parents to get, and remain, involved.
Connecting our homes, our community, and our schools together will provide the best for our
children, and their future.
